The Business pathway consists of three set programmes:

• Computer Science
• Business Studies
• Applied Law

The Computer Science programme will focus on two main components: Computer Systems and Algorithms and Programming. The programme provides practical experience of computer programming using a wide range of languages. You will leaner about the use of databases, operating systems, computer networks, cyber security and computer architecture.

The business programme will cover a range of topics including the major functional areas of businesses and organisations, with the theme of analysis and strategic decision-making running throughout all of the units.

The Applied Law programme focuses on the English legal system and areas of both private and public law. You will learn to develop and apply the techniques of legal method and reasoning to analyse and offer answers to legal problems, based on legal rules and principles and develop the ability to construct and communicate legal arguments.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for our A Level programmes are a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 and above to include English and maths. Some courses may also have additional entry requirements. These will be discussed with you at your interview.

Assessment

All A Level course is assessed by examination at the end of year 2. There will be ongoing assessment of progress, including practical assessment throughout the duration of the course.

Some vocational A Level pathways are assessed through a mixture of examination and coursework.

Progression

The course enables students to progress into a range of careers within the sports and leisure industries.

Additional Information

You will explore a variety of topics in a challenging but supporting setting. You will have specialist support with individual projects and peer support during group work. There will also be opportunities for revision and grade improvement sessions.
